web designers?

martygreeneAnyone have any suggestions for good web designers/web design groups? As much as I'd love to, I cannot make my own site as I just don't have the skills needed to make something professional, but I do need a portfolio site and soon.
I also can't afford the people I REALLY want, because- well, their client base includes such names as MTV, National Geographic, COSMO, Phish, They Might Be Giants, to name a few. They make smashing sites though.
So yeah, anyone have any suggestions? I know one person who does this for a living, however she predominantly makes flash sites, and I don't really want to use flash.
